Harvest Festival Schedule – Corrected with Tree Planting Ceremony
Here is a corrected schedule that includes the Tree Planting Ceremony, at 2:30 PM, which will mark the first Harvest Festival as a way to honour gardening and food production in Shoreacres. The oldest and youngest in Shoreacres will participate.
12:00 – Open, introduction.
12:15 – Invasive plants talk/workshop (learn about invasive plant issues in Shoreacres).
12:45 -Fencing talk/workshop. Learn all about fencing!
1:15 – Composting and waste reduction talk/workshop from EarthMatters/West Kootenay EcoSociety.
1:30 – Wildsafe BC talk/workshop on wildlife issues in the area.
2:00 – Kootenay Local Agricultural Society talk/workshop about their organization and a demonstration of tools and agricultural machines within their ‘tool library’ available in the area.
2:30 – Tree Planting Ceremony
3:00- Band – Marty Carter.
3:30 – Kids games.
4:00- Band – Max Hawk and the Raptors.
5:00- Open Mic and dinner, announcements, etc.
