SOCIETY ACT


CONSTITUTION

  1. The name of the society is SHOREACRES NEIGHBOURHOOD COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION (hereafter SNCA).
  1. The purposes of the society are:

    (a) The SNCA exists in Shoreacres, B.C. for the residents of Shoreacres,
    B.C.
    (b) To support the long-term health and vitality of the residents and community of Shoreacres: socially, physically, and environmentally.
    (c) To undertake activities as determined by the membership.
    (d) To acquire, by long-term lease or purchase, suitable land with or without building(s) to be used for cultural, recreational, educational and other community activities.

BYLAWS

The bylaws of the society are those set out in Schedule B to the Society Act, with the following variations, deletions and additions:

Bylaw 3 of Part 2 – Membership to be revised to: The members of the society are the applicants for incorporation of the society, and those persons who subsequently become members, in accordance with these bylaws and, in either case, have not ceased to be members. A member must be 19 years of age or older AND be either;
(a) a resident of upper or lower Shoreacres; or
(b) be approved by the SNCA executive.

Bylaw 10 of Part 3 – Meetings of Members to be revised to: Year-end will be on or before March 31st. The Annual General Meeting will take place on or before June 1st with location to be determined by the acting directors in accordance with the Society Act.
